LINER NOTES:

A little known fact, the title song “Wild Warriors” was originally written and recorded by Nikki McCartney as a demo for another artist associated with a legendary rock band primarily for environmental awareness purposes.  The performance of the song was so genuine and moving on the first take that the original vocalist/songwriter was advised to keep it and generate an album around it.  Within the next two days, Nikki had written 7 more songs, recorded, mixed, produced, and mastered them to complete what is the album “WILD WARRIORS.”

LINER NOTES:

The Origins of “SHADOWMAN”:

Canadian Hall-of-Famer Stu Heydon had his blues band recorded instrumental tracks he had held onto for 3 years “waiting for the right vocalist,” when he presented them on a CD.  While handing them to Nikki he said to people in his music studio, “I've been waitin' a long time for the right vocalist to come along and here she is, she's perfect.”  Nikki took the CD home, wrote lyrics and recorded vocals for each song at her home studio that evening, arranging and producing the tracks.  She brought it back to Stu the following week.  Impressed, Stu and Nikki got together at the studio the following day and mixed the tracks using her ideas and production methods.  Shortly after, within two days they recorded her vocals one song after another, thus creating a transformative and distinctive blues collaboration album.

LINER NOTES

There is a little known truth that surrounds acoustic track, “Light The Way.”  While walking through a cemetery placing flowers on graves that were neglected or forgotten, Nikki began to read the headstones and noticed that many of them only had a name and were missing a parting message about who they were or a shared memory of them.  Moved by this, she noticed how out of many people she had met, few seem to know their life's purpose and overcome the struggles of being led astray by human nature's delays and distractions.  Inspired by this, she wrote lyrics based on the experiences she had while living in Monterey Bay.  The lyrics are a compiled story of resilience; how someone who is unique and different must overcome the overwhelming nature of others trying to use or lead them blindly and have faith in one's own Self to follow one's heart and Light The Way while having courage to shine, even when facing and triggering the demons or “shadows” of others.
