LINER NOTES:
The Origins of “SHADOWMAN”:
Canadian Hall-of-Famer Stu Heydon had his blues band recorded instrumental tracks he had held onto for 3 years “waiting for the right vocalist,” when he presented them on a CD. While handing them to Nikki he said to people in his music studio, “I've been waitin' a long time for the right vocalist to come along and here she is, she's perfect.” Nikki took the CD home, wrote lyrics and recorded vocals for each song at her home studio that evening, arranging and producing the tracks. She brought it back to Stu the following week. Impressed, Stu and Nikki got together at the studio the following day and mixed the tracks using her ideas and production methods. Shortly after, within two days they recorded her vocals one song after another, thus creating a transformative and distinctive blues collaboration album.
